I use different user names and passwords for every account I have. when i bought my t60 from lenovo's website, i did have the option of picking x1300 with 64 mb ram . i picked x1400 with 128 so i can run vista.

so yeah, i can confirm that this is legit

and system not being able to turn on is usually overheat.

i have seen memory modules pass memtest but is bad.
try to take out a stick of ram and see if this happens or not.
