Concerns for new T43p

Hi All,

I just bought my first T43p (owned X's and T's before). I am a little concerned with all the talk about the noisy fan and the hot temperatures... Is this common? Or, are we only hearing from the people with problems?

Waiting for X60s price drop...

I've been needing to pick up a X60s for a few months now. The current pricing seems to be fairly steady (Since Oct 06), which leads me to think there may be a drop soon... but then I know the prices are fairly static... does anyone have any insight?

Thanks.

Swapping T60 Multiburner w/ T42 DVD/CDRW

Is this possible? I'm crossing my fingers....

Basically I have a T60 w/ DVD+_R and is not used, so I want to switch it with a T42's DVD/CDRW...

Thanks

Power supply unit (PSU) upgrade?

Hi,

I need to upgrade a power supply in a ThinkCentre computer. Are there any compatibility issues I need to be aware of with non-IBM power supplies?

Specifically I need a 500+watt PSU. Any recommendations? Advice? Thanks,

I wouldn't even try the USB-video-adapters. The bandwidth is not nearly enough to run a high resolution that the 2405FPW requires.

Networked Hard Drive Solution? (NAS)

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has had any good experience with any networked hard drives? I am speaking of hard drives which connect directly to the network via Cat5. Looking to get one sometime this year. Some options I've seen are by WD, Maxtor, Buffalo, Linksys, Netgear, and other brands. I'v...

WTB: Monitor Stand 2001 Brackets/Clips

I'm trying to get a hold of "L" shaped clips that hold the dock in place in the Monitor Stand 2001. Apparently the clips I have do not work with current docking stations.

They should be labeled with part number 22P9190.

Please let me know if you have some to spare... Thanks.

SChen, That would be awesome! Those "L" shaped plastic pieces are exactly what I'm looking for. Apparently I have the old ones, which are also "L" shaped. The new clips are supposed to hold the new docks securely. I'll try to describe what mine look like with ASCII: |_ <-- equal lengths (1.5cm) on b...

Monitor Stand 2001 - Stand Kit

Hi, I'm trying to get a hold of this particular part: 22P9190 - Stand Kit (for using Mini-Dock with Monitor Stand 2001) Basically this is the part that holds the Mini-Dock in place. The adjustable brackets that I do have are for the other docking stations. I have had some difficulty convincing IBM t...

I finally got a L191p. I would say it's a pretty solid monitor, especially for business applications. The big plus is the high contrast ratio (1000:1), but the downside is the 20ms pixel response. But since I won't be playing too many games, this monitor looks great!

Thinking about ThinkVision for Thinkpad

Hi All,

Does anyone have anything to say about the ThinkVision line of IBM/Levano LCD monitors? I am thinking about getting one for a T42. I would like to keep everything "IBM" and black, but Dell is appearing more attractive with their low prices. What's your preference on LCD monitors?

Thanks

Where to find old T series?

Hi all, I have a friend who's in the market for a laptop, but he doesn't need the top of the line. Just for basic apps and CD burning. He is partial to the T series, but I couldn't spec out one in his price range. I guess what would be great is a low end T42, but there's only two of them on the web ...

Am I correct in what I have concluded? -- Mutiple monitor support is an issue not with the video card, but with the operating system. It seems that Win2k is not as media-robust as WinXP, which supports true multiple monitors. However, I do remember being able to assign primary and secondary monitors...
