Re: HDD for T43 2668 CTO
Because of the PATA to SATA bridge used in the T43 you're going to need a drive with IBM approved firmware to avoid the 2010 error message when booting. Below is a long thread about the issue. Look for the link to the IBM webpage listing the drives that can be flashed to the proper firmware. http://...

Re: T42p LCD replacement-- 14.1 to 15"?
Not only are the hinges of a 14" & 15" spaced differently, the hinges themselves are different. The right hinge on a 14" is narrow and the left thick; on a 15" the left & right are both thick. Your easiest mod would be to get a 14" SXGA+ lid assembly with 1400x1050 resolution. That LCD has about 80%...

Re: t41 new hdd-not recognising drive
Not a big fan of the whole Rescue & Recovery system but I seem to remember that your discs have only created the recovery partition on the HDD. You then have to push F11 when booting, get to the R & R pages and do a Factory install from there. Search the Forum, there are guides on how to use the Rec...

You might want to checkout the Lenovo Outlet. People getting the 'Scratch & Dent' batteries have been reporting receiving zero cycle batteries and the price is great. 6 cell T-series: http://stores.channeladvisor.com/LenovoOutlet/Items/ca51j0468?&caSKU=ca51j0468&caTitle=ThinkPad%20T/R/W/SL%20Series%...

Just let it go as is - I've been running the 120gb version for months without a problem. Got a spare 100gb coming from the same source as yours - $48 best offer.

Re: T41 - Corrupt File won't boot
Before you do anything BACKUP YOUR DATA . You may have to put the drive in another machine or boot from a Live Win or Linux disc but do it. Then: First thing to try - when booting push F8 until a screen with boot options comes up. Select LAST GOOD CONFIGURATION and cross your fingers. (This is safe ...

Re: T42p LCD assembly in a T43p? Disaster?
Thanks HarryC, did the swap out Friday and now have the T43p I've been lusting after. Found the T4x series LCD asembly to be much easier to work on than the T30. Also swapped the inverters and found the inverter in the 'bad' assembly to be working. Guess I have a dead backlight to go with the bad GP...

Re: Looking for PCMCIA/ExpressCard-to-USB adapter for my T41
I have two T42p machines and both have dead USB ports. I got a pair of these: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14848 Pluged them in, XP saw them & installed the drivers - they use a NEC chip. Don't look at the picture on the box, the adapter actually fits flush with the side of the computer...

Re: Ultrabay hardrive upgrade
I just got the exact adapter you're looking at. It works fine but the fit is a bit tight. I found it works better taking the drive out of it's normal caddy. Be sure to put something below the drive to prevent contact with the metal floor. Two Post-Its worked well. Be prepared to wait awhile, this se...

T42p LCD assembly in a T43p? Disaster?
Just picked up a nice T43p with VGA output but no LCD image, not even a faint image. I also have a working T42p LCD assembly with a sick MB. Can I install the T42p entire LCD lid on the T43p without damaging any components on either machine? Obviously both LCDs are 1600x1200. The T42p is a 2374-D03 ...

Instantly remove them - I don't do free advertising. Besides when they do wear out you're left with an off-color mark on the palmrest.
