Finished Calibrating my X61S, and just WOW what a difference that made! I'd say this monitor has improved the most out of all monitors I have calibrated to the point where I'm satisfied with the screen now. At the end of calibrating there is a sample photo and you can see the before and after, ever...

Loose headphone Jack

Since I have had my laptop (x61s) for the past few months the audio port seems really loose. Esp compared to the microphone port, or the audio port on any other device I own. I can wiggle the plug in it and get static etc, or at least it unplugs very easy. It still works but it's certainly looser th...

When I ordered my 1.8 it automaticaly upgraded to the ultralight screen as well. So it was definatley worth the extra cost (same price as 1.6 + ultralight). Also I believe the Processor is soldered to the board, so you can't upgrade it. Also you might get teh fingerprint reader it might be a fun toy...

It will walk you through it, I'm not certain on the brightness settting but yes I turned it all the way up for the laptop. I turned it down most of the way on my Westinghouse though cause by default it is overly bright. The working for selecting the correct setting is kinda vague. I'm not sure how i...

Have you calibrated both screens? My X61s must have had a 30%-40% improvement in colors after I calibrated it with my spyder. I have the file hosted for this forum still if you do a search. Of course the proper way to do this is to calibrate each individual screen but it should get you close if you ...

you run chkdsk from the command prompt...

However don't use Disk Keeper its sucks, use perfect Disk, it's night and day difference.

run->cmd-> type "chkdsk"

You might need to execute from the drive you want to check for example if you want to check "D" use cd /d d: (enter)
then type chkdsk..

Loose Battery

I was finaly charging and cycling my battery today when I noticed how extreamly loose the 8 cell pack feels when attached. It's really strange that they cost so much. I can get a 32GB flash drive for $250-300. I can get a 16GB for $129. In a 2.5" form factor - they don't even need to use the highest density chips. Cost per GB should be really low. Flash drives only have limited writes and would wear out extreamly fast ...
