Re: How secure is a thinkpad?
Britain is the perfect example of f*cked up gun control. I mean, I'd rather do it the US way with everyone owning a gun, and most of them knowing how to use it. Than no one aside from the criminals having them, who still think the spray and pray manoeuvre is "da sh!t". Just remember that gang member...

I assume one was for a shotgun wedding? Hehe, no. I'm pretty sure he wanted to kill me. Which is weird because his wife (Sara's mother) thinks the world of me... Can't please 'em all, I suppose. Hehe, my gf did something similar when she failed level 4 math (complete mindf*ck btw) in high school. Long story short she told her parents that she was knocked up, was getting married, and as a afterthought mentioned that she and the father (me) were moving to the UK. Re: Express card eject lever
Uhm, call lenovo and tell them to fix it? As for the mechanics. It should pop out and and work like any other thinkpad even without the card. I have a similar issue, the express card doesn't pop out when I press the lever. It doesn't "lock" either, so its stuck in the eject position. Insanely annoyi...

Obama was the right choice, in the sense that it was the better choice. I was not crazy about him, but was even less crazy about the other guy. You cant be crazy about a politician. The backlight went out in my X201 yesterday around 10pm, opened a warranty claim an hour later. At 10am today, Lenovo calls me to inform me that an on-site repair has been scheduled for tomorrow afternoon and asks when its a good time for the technician to arrive. Re: Updating Z61t questions!
Well, I foundout that my Z61t has only a x86(32 bit) t2400 @ 1.83GHZ! I found that the top of the CPU is either a T7200 or T7400 which are x64(64 bit). If I can swap out to the higher class CPU; I can put in a seond 2GB memory stick and get 4GB! Has anyone swapped out the CPUs? Is it easy or not? I...

Re: Linus Torvalds: Make 2560x1600 the new standard resolution
My sister, seeing the wisdom in replacing my aging T42, decided to do the same. She found a cheap ($550USD) Packard bell with quad core AMD A6, 8GB ram and HD7670 at the local electronics store. Anyway, we got in the car to look at it, and behold, the screen was of epic proportions. 15.6 inches and ...

G40, any good?
I have the chance to buy a working G40 for around 100 bucks. Battery does still take a charge, although how much is unclear, and the machine works well overall. Pentium 4 2.4ghz, 768mb ram, 120gb hdd (the drive being brand new and worth over half the asking price in itself.) In my limited experience...

I have a 1.08GB drive (Hitachi DK223A-11) and I should have a 60mb somewhere. Although the latter doest quite work, the moment you cut power, it erases everything... Not very fond of this guy, but he does make a good point occasionally. Although 1600p isn't feasible on the low end market, they should go for 1080p at least.

I am wanting to go two steps forward to an X220. Better battery life, IPS LED, and the ability to add an mSata and a platter storage will work fine for me. The X200 I have has an MVA or PVA screen (forget which one) but it seems to be getting a bit dim. The X200 has certainly served me well and I a...
