Activating the 3rd button on Trackpoint

#1 Post by Isaac000 » Thu Oct 26, 2006 11:24 pm

Has anyone figured out how to get the 3rd button to work properly?

If I attach external mouse, the 3rd/scroll button on the mouse works fine (but Trackpoint is disabled I think).

If I manually disabled the touch pad (via the BIOS), then the 3rd button will also work, but it means I have to use the little "erase" nib.

Is there some way to leave the touch pad activated, but the 3rd button to still work? This, of course, works okay in WinXP.

Thanks,
Isaac

Aaah, okay. Maybe that might explain it? You are using BOTH the Trackpoint AND Trackpad and 3rd button works?
I am running the latest and "greatest" version of the Trackpoint drivers.

Anyone might know where I can acquire the "old" stand-alone version, or how to extract it from the 4.52 CD's?

(BTW, anyone know the part number for the 4.52 CD's? I have a stack of updates, some duplicates, but I don't know which ones are 4.5, 4.51, 4.52, etc.. How do I tell?)

i don't think that you can find them as an installable driver, but you can search for the *.sys and the *.dlls and make a dir /s on the CD to find it.
Btw. I don't know which updagrade-CDs you have, but on my 4.52 CD (convenience pack) it's written OS/2 Warp 4.52.

Hmm...I reverted back to the old one, but no luck, still the same behaviour.

It is odd, it's not that it is totally busted. As long as Trackpad is disabled (via BIOS), the Trackpoint with 3rd button works fine for scroll, magnifying, etc...

Anyone else got any ideas?
