OS/2 Warp 4 on a T22: help
I am getting somewhere with Warp 4 on my T22, however I have a couple of issues. Now, I have googled quite a bit and not found too many helpful items that addressed my issues.
In particular, I cannot get PCMCIA support working. I have tried the Warp 4 built-in PCMCIA settings, but these seem to be from older TPs and nothing happens when I insert a card into the PC slots. Looking for some advice/suggestions/known fixes etc. Thanks
Also curious about swapping the DVD and Floppy drive in the Bay.
Thanks
Bob

Allrighty then, this is like normal, talking to myself.
The PCMCIA is now working after finding some drivers for it from IBM in a strange location. Anyhow I can get my Wireless PC card noticed, but cannot get it loaded, as there are no drivers on the planet for it, that I can find. It is a Symbol Technologies Spectrum24. I can get something else if necessary, just thought I'd try this one.
So, on to the next question, anyone have Warp 4 running wireless? If so, what card, driver, etc.?
Thanks
Bob

There is a forum there that has help for those installing OS/2-eCS on computers (desktop and notebook).
There are a variety of drivers at http://www.netlabs.org

Re: OS/2 Warp 4 on a T22: help
If you are using *some* versions of the Dani drivers then swapping works but you need to suspend the Tpad, swap the drive and come out of suspend. The downside is some other bits, noteably network cards don't survive the process. As I said not all version of the dani drivers work. Dani does not have a Tpad and is not really interested in getting it to work consistantly - At lest she was not the last time i broached the subject.Bob Collins wrote: Also curious about swapping the DVD and Floppy drive in the Bay.

Dani Drivers?
I could never get Dani drivers to work. I am succesfull in getting the newer IBM IDE drivers to work with my computers (desktop and Thinkpad).
IIRC - the drivers can be found in the member section of http://www.ecomstation.com
I prefer eCS since it is an improved version of OS/2 (IMHO).

Upgrade cheaper!
Since you have OS/2 Warp 4, one could get the upgrade which is cheaper than the full version.
I still have ver 4 of Warp on an older Thinkpad. 760EL and ver 3 on an even older Thinkpad 720 C.

Warm Swapping on almost all Thinkpads
You need reasonably recent drivers for this, but they are all available at no cost at this time
IBM - IDEDASD package is no longer free. Use the last free version.
DaniS506.ADD - from Hobbes
DaniATAPI.FLT - from Hobbes
Here is the magic in Config.Sys
BASEDEV=IBM1FLPY.ADD /A:0 /FORCE:1 /U:0 /F:1.44MB
BASEDEV=DaniS506.ADD /A:1 /BAY /PCS
BASEDEV=DANIATAP.FLT /A:1 /U:0 /TYPE:W
The /PCS argument is not for warm swap -- it mounts any PCCard hard drives you may have. I use it to mount the CF card from my digital camera.
If you have eCS, the install program does this for you when you check (Install on a T30)
