WTB; Thinkpad 770z 1280x1024

#1 Post by digimer » Sun Aug 06, 2017 12:01 am

Hi all,

This is my first post. I've read through the rules so I hope I don't commit any faux-pas. :) I was pointed here from reddit's /r/thinkpad after asking for alternate resources for trying to find a Thinkpad 770z.

Years back, I had a 770z (1280x1024 version, US keyboard) and I loved that machine so much. Today, I've got a Thinkpad P70 and it reminds me a lot of that old machine, and I've found myself growing ever more nostalgic for it.

My old 770z was stolen, otherwise I'd still have it in my collection. Would anyone of the find ladies or gents here have any suggestions, insights or leads on finding a working 770z? If so, I'd be quite grateful.

Thanks!

I have one 770z, two 770x's, one 770ed and one 770e.

None have hard drives, but I could try to load one with the restore CD's

The Z has some peeling of the black coating on the right palmrest

The X's both have the higher resolution screen

If you're willing to part with any, can you let me know the asking price and specs (or model number and I can research the specs myself). Feel free to PM me if you'd like to not spam this forum.

Thanks again!!

Welcome to the jungle, we have FrankenPads
If you want it you're going to bleed, but that is the price to pay
And you're a very rare mobo, very hard to get
You can see the blinky lights, but you won't get them for free.
