2. How bad is the play at the hindges? If you measure from the top edge, is the play more than 1 inch?

Thanks for your interest. The bottom label is clearly shown in the photos, specifically this one...

However, this is a fully refurbished unit and some of the hardware has been changed. The screen specifically is the wsxga 1680x1050, most of the rest is original.

Note: The serial numbers have been obscured on the photos, but they do match and I'd be glad to give them to a serious buyer if interested.

The hinges have typical play for this model, probably about an inch, but I haven't tried to measure them exactly. My intentions were to offer a high spec T61p at an entry level T61 price. Many low-end T61 units sell for as much on ebay and I've seen the T61p models selling for 2-3 times my asking price.
