T61p Fully spec'd T7700 WUXGA (Dead Motherboard) - $300

Hey guys,

The GPU on my T61p just died, and rather than replace the motherboard i've decided to just buy a new machine. Its fully spec'ed if anyone wants to buy it and replace the motherboard themselves.

Its a T61p with and INTEL CORE 2 DUO T7700 2.4GHZ 4MB L2 CACHE 800MHZ FSB CPU, and WUXGA (1920x1200) 15.4" screen.

The screen has zero dead pixels or artifacts - and i've tested it in another machine to confirm its still working (I suspected it might have been the screen at first, but after further tests its definitely the GPU).

It also has a fingerprint reader, SC slot and Turbo memory and DVD writer. Below are the specs from IBM:

Just note:
- Hard Drive has been removed (to protect my data) - but i'll ship the caddy etc
- GPU is dead (That will mean you'll have to replace the motherboard) - 42W7653 or 42W7651
- 2GB DDR2 667 Memory is included (It has 2 slots, so both will be occupied)

I also have another WUXGA screen that came out of my macbook that has about 15 vertical lines through it. You may be able to fix it by heating up the tape at the top of the screen. I'll throw that in if you want it.

Oh and I also have a IBM T43p 2668-F8G with a 1600x1200 screen thats fully working EXCEPT the inverter in the screen has gone. I'll supply that fully working with HD and ram etc. Its in pretty good condition too.

I actually bought the inverter but never bothered to change it after i got my T61p lol. I can supply that with it. BUT it could also be the backlight that's gone.

PLEASE ASSUME IT IS THE BACKLIGHT!!

Again make me an offer. Of course I can take some pictures of both laptops if you're interested in principle.

Seems to be some confusion about the Mac screen

Ok so its just a freebie, if you want it have it. This screen will fit in ANY laptop that has a 15.4" panel in it (not LED backlit) and has a GPU that can support it. Its actually a replacement panel for a DELL. It WILL fit in an IBM/Lenovo 15.4" Thinkpad.

Macbooks don't go up to WUXGA at 15.4" so it was a mod.

It has 10 to 15 vertical lines in it - which is due to the aneasotropic tape detaching over age and time. You can reseat this with some heat if you want to give it a try. I just figured if i'm shipping the other stuff you may as well have that too!
