LF: R60 bottom base case screw [FOUND FOUND FOUND]

I’m hoping someone out there has a part for my R60 they could help me out with. I had bought an R60 not too long ago and noticed a screw was missing. The missing screw appears to be one for a location on the bottom base case that has a keyboard and microchip symbol near it. I’m sure this attaches the bottom base case to the keyboard. If anyone happens to have a spare one I'm interested. TIA.

Could you post a pic?

I'm not certain about that model, but on other models there is a hole fitting that description that isn't used. I believe it's where the unit was mounted during assembly at the factory. I believe the hole is threaded, but no screw belongs there. A pic would definitely help clarify this.

If it were a keyboard screw, you should have more screw holes with the same pair of symbols.
Take one out and measure it in both inch and mm, then report back.
Check where there are 2 holes near one another, there should be a small arrow pointing to the screw hole, while the other hole is for drainage of keyboard spills.

I've never heard of a not-being-used assembly screw hole :?:

Okay. I got two pictures here. Not the best pics but they should be viewable.

The first pic is pretty self-explanatory. The hole with the water drop symbol is the drainage hole and the empty thread with my photo edited captions is in need of the screw.

This next pic has a screw that belongs to the empty thread on the right-most side of the pic. The screw does fit in both threads so my guess is the type of screw in the pic is the one I need.

Umm, would it not be easier to consult the HMM to determine whether or not a screw belongs there and if so, the correct dimension of said screw?
Sorry, just my two bits...

Happy Holidays!

It's been my experience that wherever there is an icon of a keyboard and microchip symbol for the thread- it needs a screw there. If one goes through the HMM there is an exploded view of the R60 with numbers to indicate corresponding part. I do not see a screw anywhere in the exploded view. When I scroll down through the list (of part numbers) what I do find is "Security screw (M3X6)." The problem is I don't know if that is the type of screw that I need. Also if the nearby screw I had put in the thread fits (actually screws in tightly) then yes I would say that a screw had originally been there.

*looking for a ruler or measuring tape* :)

EDIT:

Okay in HMM I did find a screw type. It seems to be "M2X 17mm, flat-head, nylon coated" so disregard the M3X6.

This looks like the same type of palmrest screw the T61 uses. If you want to PM me your address, I'll drop one in the mail to you.

Edit: I have micrometers and threat pitch gauges, but I'd rather spend 2 mins mailing a screw then digging out the tools and looking at one under a microscope lol

From the HMM, it looks like there's four M2 x 17mm screws holding down the palmrest and another one M2 x 17mm for the keyboard.
How many do you have under your R60? From your photos it looks like you are missing one of the 4 palmrest screws.
