Hi everyone, I need a fan for my T60. The one it currently has died on me just a few days ago. My T60's machine type is in my signature.

I might have one, but if it's just the fan you need, you can buy it for about $10-12 shipped on ebay. I've installed several on T61 models, there is a couple mental tabs that hold them into place, and some foil tape. If your careful and peel back the tape, you can reuse it, then install the new fan.

I'd get a tube of automotive grade black silicone RTV sealer (gasket sealer), and use that sparingly to seal any areas that the tape doesn't seal. It's tough stuff automobile manufactures use it to seal car engines, so the heat from a computer would be no problem. Just let it dry overnight before you install it and it will become completely inert.

You'll also need some Artic Silver #5 thermal paste. You can get that on ebay too. Some of the fans come with cheap thermal paste, you can use that if you want to save a few dollars, but the artic silver, when properly applied can make your system run cooler and prevent damage, so it's well worth the cost.

ps. here's one for $7 shipped
