The cost of buying the card in Australia is around AUD$300 but to buy via the web from the US it is around USD$85 which is about AUD$110

All I want is for is to get 5.1 or 7.1 sound out of my laptop

Contact our host, Bill Morrow (bill@thinkpads.com). It won't be the business of his life, but might be able to help you.

Well, I don't believe the OP would be requiring it still after almost 2 years.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
