Discount Pricing question on fix/sell T43

As I ease into the fix vs. sell, there are two symptoms that might merit a discount or new plan. Would people wet themselves laughing if I asked $200 for:

- 6-cell battery (about an hour of life at full charge)
-DVD-CD Ultrabay and mini-dock, plus additional AC charger
- very good condition 2687-DSU T43/14-in/2Gb memory/90-Gig 7200 HD / Win 7 Pro docs, disks and box. . .and a couple of minor added surprises.

And are there any estimates on cost for fixing:
-fan noise that sounds as though replacement is nigh -- very clean and functional otherwise.
-USB gremlins (sometimes slots work and other times devices aren't recognized at all).

If anyone in the Boston-area wants to help, inspect, suggest etc that's always appreciated.

Thanks
DW

OK...first things first:

a) 2687-DSU is a T43...not a T42

ThinkPad T43 (2687-DSU)
P M 760(2GHz), 512MB RAM, 80GB 5400rpm HDD, 14.1in 1400x1050 LCD, 64MB ATI Radeon X300, 4x DVD-R, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Bluetooth/Modem, 1Gb Ether, UltraNav, Sec Chip, FPR, 9 cell Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

b) The USB gremlins you're referring to is most likely an unsoldered SouthBridge chip...that's an upcoming motherboard swap right there.

Parting out the machine and selling it piece by piece makes a lot more sense in my opinion. I can't really see anyone dishing out $200 for the lot, but I can very well imagine you going over that sum by parting everything out.

My $0.02 only...

Good luck.

Thanks for the math lesson, and the upgrade from 42 . . .

I'll be copying files to a new machine in coming days and then looking for next steps, probly partzing it out will be most sensible.
