FS: Tiny Vaio ultraportable

#1 Post by Bibin » Mon Jan 30, 2012 8:27 pm

I have this little Vaio VGN-TX651p. From what I understand it was ludicrously expensive at launch (around the same time as the T4x series... it has the same chipset as the T43). It's a nice little centrino deal, with a fantastic 1280x768 11" LCD and a battery I just bought a few weeks ago that gets a nice 5-6 hours on medium brightness with wireless on. It even has an optical drive! It comes with a compatible charger.

Specifications:

Code: Select all

Processor : Pentium M Processor Ultra Low Voltage 753 1.20GHz
Chipset : Intel 915GMS
Integrated Wireless LAN : Intel® PRO/ Wireless 2200BG Network Connection (802.11b/g)
Bluetooth: Yup
LCD : 11.1" WXGA display (1366x768) with XBRITE™ technology Razor-Thin Panel
Hard Drive : 60GB
Memory : 512MB DDR2, has a slot on the bottom for additional memory
Graphics : GMA 900
Optical Drive : DVD burner
Modem : Integrated V.90 modem (RJ-11)
Ethernet : 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet with RJ-45 interface
Audio Interface : Microphone jack, Headphone jack
Media Slot : Supports optional Memory Stick®, Memory Stick PRO™ media with MagicGate™ functionality and Secure Digital Media
Other Interfaces : 1 4pin i.LINK® (IEEE 1394) interface, 2 USB 2.0, VGA output, port replicator connector
PC Card Slots : One PCMCIA - Type II/Type I card slot with CardBus support
It has a few scuffs, but nothing major. The LCD is very thin but unfortunately the side effect is that it isn't super durable. The previous owner must have really hated this laptop - there is a slight light area towards the centre that is vaguely in the shape of the embossed Vaio logo, and a dark spot towards the middle-bottom of the display. The LCD bezel has a minor cosmetic crack and the hinge plug end thing on the right side is missing. All cosmetic, and all non-serious. I've taken pictures of all of them.

These things tend to be pretty pricy, but considering the LCD is not perfect I'd sell it for a solid $150. If you have questions or want to negotiate what you think is a better price, just send a PM.

Bumped. An eBay auction fell through and this machine is for sale for only $150 now.
