Trade: My T60P for your sata Modded T43p
Trade: My T60P for your sata Modded T43p
I am trading my T60p for a T43p with the sata modification.
My T60p:
ThinkPad T60p (2007-ZSM)
T7200(2GHz)
2GB RAM
No hard drive
14.1in 1400x1050 LCD (it is an eh screen, has a thumb tip size gray spot in the upper righthand corner)
256MB ATI FireGL V5250
No optical drive
802.11n wireless
Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet
UltraNav
Secure chip
Fingerprint reader
Battery is dead
WinVista Business COA
Cosmetically I would say it is ok (kinda worn), shiny keys and bezel
Comes with charger.
I would like a T43p with the sata modification. Desiring 2ghz processor at least, ram is unimportant, G wireless (N would be great but I don't think it was standard), 14 inch SVGA+ screen, fingerprint reader(not a deal killer, but highly desired), no hdd* or optical drive necessary, must have charger.
Your trade-off for getting a newer system and 2GB of ram would be that your T43p would need to be in a)good cosmetic condition B) have a working battery c)sata mod d) decent screen.
*If you don't have a sata modded system but still want mine, I would need a decent sized hard drive to get started while I mod it myself. Let me know what you think. Comments and concerns are welcome.

sorry I can't help you out with what you are after, but one question comes to mind for me and that is how do you do a sata mod to a T43 (I'm sure there's a thread somewhere here for that.....) ?
T42 (type 2373)
T43 (type 2668) x2
T60 (type 2007)

Would you sell it outright? I'd be interested...

I have a system that doesn't quite fit your bill, but it's still a great machine and if you are open to compromise you may like it.
It is a T43 with ATI graphics, and a SATA mod installe. I did it in such a fashion that allows you to use the original caddy and bay without reassembly as I mounted a sata plug instead of soldering a drive. Just install and go as if it was stock.
The thinkpad is in great shape, except the screen, which I had to pull from an old HP laptop. I is only XGA and has a light spot in the middle.
Everything else is in great shape thoUgh. It has 1GB of DDR2, a 1.7GHZ pentium M (socketed and thus upgradable), and I have a optical bay battery.
If you are interested I am open to partial trades since this machine isn't as powerful as the T43p you were seeking.

Give your T43/T43p/R52/X41 the SATA it deserves! http://mikejmoffitt.com/sata

Hey Bibin, are you no longer interested?

Yes, sorry, I missed your PM. I don't have the model number on hand but if I recall correctly it's a 2668.
It had an SXGA+ LCD in it, but I retrofitted the XGA panel from an old HP laptop. This is because for whatever reason all the T4x series with 14" SXGA+ LCDs drive them at 50hz which is very irritating for me as I do game development and rely on a consistent 60hz (otherwise on a 50hz LCD it looks choppy). The XGA panel runs at 60hz, hence I installed it. The cable's jumpers are a bit messed up and I'd just avoid changing them back for fear of damaging them.
