FOUND! WTB: Fan/Heatsink Assembly for X60s
Hey folks, starting to get a little growl on spin up and spin down. I may pull it and go for a try at lubricating it, but I would like to have a new or good spare to toss in the Thinkpad parts drawer.
Let me know what you have, what you need for it and if there is something you need in trade.
Thanks!
Daniel

Re: WTB: Fan/Heatsink Assembly for X60s
I have a new one that may fit. I mistakenly bought it last week for my X60t. All that copper is beautiful; I'm jealous.

I don't know exactly which model(s) this assembly fits. Despite all the screws aligning, the fan end was too big for my tablet chassis.
It is neither used nor damaged, but the copper definitely has fingerprint marks (not mine). Also, the part that screws onto the processor came pre-pasted, but the grey goo has been smushed some (more fingerprints). Fresh paste, upon installation, is warranted regardless.
I can send photos.
How about $20 plus shipping?

Anyone know if the X61s and X60s are close enough to interchange?

Yes, the leftmost copper plate appears slightly misaligned. I've already tugged on the copper a bit to fix that. (I couldn't help myself) It was easy to do as the longer of the two copper "pipes" is not secured to the middle plate of copper.
