i have an 860 with camera but no hard drive..
thats quite a nice list of thinkpads you have there.. but just off the cuff, here, to complete your collection, you also need a 755CDV and a 760CD..
and maybe a left handed transnote.. :)

and to refine your collection, a 770Z was the absolute best of breed at that time.. i was told by an army top kick that they loved them since they were built tough.. took a licking and kept on ticking as it were..
the 770Z running win2k could hot swap in the ultrabay..
and, just for added enjoyment, the 770 was plagued with bad paint on the palmrest and guess what..?! i have two new palmrests for the 14 inch display versions..

thinking about this now i have all the software and the video card for the 770's..

If I were you i'd keep a main copy of those driver disks for anyone that may come accross another PC110 as lenovo may get rid of older ThinkPad Drivers soon. I may go online soon and start downloading all drivers for my ThinkPads.

I totally agree. ThinkPad560X, I admire your collection, which is even more comprehensive than the one I used to have -- you have 37 different Thinkpad models whereas I "only" had 33. However, you simply must get a 770Z with the 13.7" 1280x1024 screen. It's not just the most unique Thinkpad ever, but in fact the most unique laptop in general. I no longer collect laptops, but I still regret not owning a 13.7" 770Z when I was a collector.

The IBM ThinkPad 770 I do own, I bought off ebay and the listing said IBM ThinkPad 770Z for parts. After I got it I opened up to see the model number was just 770. But the good thing was it was in very brand New shap. No wear on it at all.

I use ThinkWiki to find my ThinkPads but so of the rare ones are not listed. such as the 235 you have for sale. And how much is it and what year was it from. From the images I see of it, witch all the sites are all in Japanese And guessing its a sold in on Asia ThinkPad, Looks like a 1995-1997 Era. http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/ThinkPad_History

I had to type in google to find the page. http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:235

I was specifically referring to the 13.7" 1280x1024 version of the 770Z. Your 770 is either 13.3" XGA or 14.1" XGA, i.e. boring! Even if you had the 14.1" XGA version of the 770Z, I would still say your collection isn't complete. The 13.7" 770X/Z is the only laptop ever to have a 5:4 aspect ratio. And like BillMorrow said, it was designed to be "the absolute best of breed".
ThinkPad560X wrote:Full LCD display that displays 1024X768
Yep, that's the problem. Now you get it?

CORRECTION: I just learned that there was a Dell Inspiron 7500 with 15.4" 1280x1024, i.e. the 770Z wasn't "the only laptop ever to have a 5:4 aspect ratio" as I claimed above. Such exotic laptops!

I use the ThinkWiki list to view the models of ThinkPads And didnt notice I dont have a 800 model ThinkPad Im just collecting one of each model like 760, 770, 560, 570 and so on. I know the 240Z was the best to get along with the 770Z whitch I was scamed on ebay that it was a 770Z but came to be a basic 770 "in Brand New shape tho" came with Floppy drive & DVD drive. Other than looking for a "wanting a 860 latest of the 800 series" I have the 700T in very nice shape. But my AC Adapters dont work with it, Thought that my T20/T40 type AC Adapter would work but its a bigger pin size. But needs for my 700T are the Stylus Pen, Battery and AC Adapter. Missing HDD but does take a IDE HDD.

Anyone have the Orginal IBM ThinkPad 700T Battery, AC Adapter and Stylus Pen? The IBM ThinKPad T2,T3,T4 and all that use that style AC Adapter doesnt fit in the 700T and its not the 4Pin plug like the 755CD or G40 uses But just a bit bigger than the T234/R345/X234 series use. Havnt even powerd up my 700T yet since I got it.

I found this IBM ThinkPad 850C at a flee market and got for $10.00 It looks similar to a 760 and 820 model. It reads on the front: POWERPC And PowerSeries 850C on the top right of the keyboard like the other ThinkPads. I looked on ThinkWiki and dont see a 850C? Unless this cameout between the 820/850. It looks more like the 820 shape. The drive is on the side and not middle too. It has a small 12" screen and just a floppy in where the CD would be. To me it looks very close to my 760XD but slimer. It boots up and shows a white screen that has the IBM logo on the top right and ThinkPad Power Series on the bottom just like the normal ThinkPad and post boot. Their is no HDD.

Heres a image I took of it with my Razr and its the first gen ones not a razr 2 So image looks choppy "not into the new touch phones". I think this looks like 760 but the lettering looks factory done. And it dont have the HDD 40pin but a slot plug-in like SATA kinda, So will have to look for the right HDD for it and my SATA will not fit. http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/1322/uuuuudx.jpg

Images are hard to find of the 800 series but the closes match I found was the ThinkPad 820 model. Not sure how many their are, I only know of 3. 820, 850, 860.

it looks very similar to all the thinkpads of that era. Nice to have in my collection. Want to try to get my 750 working because it is immaculate.

And it dont have the HDD 40pin but a slot plug-in like SATA kinda, So will have to look for the right HDD for it and my SATA will not fit.
it's likely SCSI of some flavor.   post a detailed photo of the port to help those of us with fuzzy memories.   it just might need an adapter of some sort.

I'd still not define a normal 770 as boring. I'd be happy to lay my hands on one !

I like my ThinkPad 770, it came with the Floppy Drive and even the DVD-ROM drive which was IBM's very first DVD Drive ThinkPad. I have Windows XP Profesional running on it and it looks like new, plus it feels rock solid next to my 380Z, another fat version ThinkPad without the rubber feel the 770 has.

the standard 770 isn't boring per se but the SXGA panel found in the 770X/770Z is a historical landmark in the thinkpad timeline and worth owning as a collector.   not only is it the first and only 5:4 panel in the thinkpad but it's the first panel to break the 1024x768 barrier.   the next jump in resolution wasn't until the 14.1" SXGA+ T21.

Im messing with my 850C and looking for a bios update but lenovo dont have the 800 Series in the driver list. Not sure if IBM will have it. I plan on keeping all my ThinkPads "In List below as they are getting harder to find" when serching on ebay their wasnt that many below 2001 ThinkPads. I brought out my i1400 to help out with the floppy bios transfure. Hope these old floppies still work..

This is the model I was wanting to get, the ThinkPad PowerPC 850 its alittle diffrent from mine and when the lid closes the speaker half doesnt get covered by the LCD. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a166/ ... _7234s.jpg

This is the one closes to mine and where I think mine fitted in between the 820 and 850. http://aichi.to/~thinkpad/tp820/tp820_01.jpg

Although mine dont have the indicator lights but the same style as the 760 and 770 indicator bar.

WOW, love the 820. Shame about the shape of the cd drawer though.
