I have two one T61/SXGA+ laptops that are complete, work fine but each has minor problems.
Each comes complete with AC, GREEN battery, 2G memory and no HD (I will include HD cover and caddy). I do have HDisks (ask me for prices) but can only install XP-Pro.

The original system had an XGA LCD (Intel graphics) - I replaced that with an SXGA+ LCD. I had to replace the base as the original base was cracked. In so doing, the lower PCMCIA slot is covered by some of the base plactics (the PC-Express card slot is open for use). The ethernet switches to 100M instead of the 1G speed. I've had at least once where I got 1G but it's more consistently 100M. I don't know the reason ..

The Good:
- The LCD is really nice - clean and bright
- The system runs well and fast

The Bad:
- No hard-drive and no OS - but I can put one in for extra money
- 100M ethernet instead of the 1G standard
- Hinges wobble just slightly - this seems to be standard for the T61 systems
- Keyboard is clean with a little shine

The Ugly:
- The PCMCIA slot is not accessible

The original system had a T7500 CPU - I replaced that with T8300. This system has the nVidia video chipset (mfg 08/03). The upper USB port on the right side does not work. I don't have the skills to examine it further ..

The Good:
- The LCD is really nice - clean and bright

- 1x USB port not working
- Hinges wobble just slightly - this seems to be standard for the T61 systems

For informational purposes, the reason you can't access the lower PCcard slot (in unit 1) is because the base you installed was from a unit with optional smartcard reader. You can swap the "flap" from the old base onto this base easy enough, or if someone wants the flap I can pull one from a base and send it to them.

Changing the flap is covered in a module added to the training videos for T61.

You're correct - that was the only base I had. Also, there is a plastic bar across that portion. To add the new flap I'd have to remove that. I'll let any buyer do that ..

Thanks. These are good systems. I have another one like them that I put an Intel X7900 CPU in - slick and fast.

One sold on eBay .. the other is still available and hasn't been listed on eBay yet.
