IBM Thinkpad 770

#1 Post by Apples555 » Sat Apr 07, 2012 5:30 pm

I'm looking for an IBM Thinkpad 770, or any reliable Thinkpad from the Windows 95/98 era that I can use as a dedicated typing machine. A CD drive would be nice. Windows 95/98 support preferred so that it can run my favorite word processing software.

Thanks all. Great site.

thanks for the praise and welcome to the forum

what you want to find is a 770Z..
built like a tank and will most likely run for centuries..

will run win 2000 and give you hot swap in the CD bay..
i THINK i remember swapping the CD for a HDD while running win2k..

Thank you for the welcome.

A 770Z it is then. Win2000 would be fine. Hot-swapping isn't really necessary, but is nice.

Do you know where I could find one?

I should have wrote 'original' adapter. I'll think about it.

If anyone else has one, I would like to hear from you, especially if you have a 770/770Z.

EDIT: Scratch that, I'd like to hear from anyone who has a Thinkpad from 1995-1998.
