SOLD

#1 Post by ajkula66 » Sat Apr 28, 2012 7:11 am

Time to let go of this one, although it's an incredibly sweet little machine...

ThinkPad T61

T7300(2GHz)
2GB RAM,
80GB/5400rpm HDD
14.1in 1440x990
Intel X3100
CDRW/DVD
Intel 802.11abg
Bluetooth
Modem
1Gb Ethernet
UltraNav
Secure chip,
4c Li-Ion
IEEE 1394
4-in-1 Card Reader
WinVista Business COA
IBM logos on lid and palmrest
65W AC adapter

the not-so-good:

- Normal wear and tear on the lid, some shine on the keyboard
- One small whitish spot in the lower RH section of otherwise very clean LCD - impossible to capture in pictures

the good and then some:

- This machine sports a Penryn-approved board (42W7866) so you can fly first class, very cheap nowadays...
- Middleton BIOS installed enabling SATA II (3.0) transfer speeds and other good stuff...

Clean, small and capable - that's how I'd describe this particular T61. If you're a fan of these machines to begin with, this one offers a pretty rare combination of WXGA+ LCD and an Intel-based Penryn board coupled with the optional card reader.

Available upgrades include a Penryn CPU, "n" wireless card...ask if you'd like something else, we aim to please...

Cash, personal cheque, USPS/Canada Post money order, Western Union and MoneyBookers accepted as payment methods. No PreyPal.

NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:

As of May 16th, 2012 we are no longer allowed to ship batteries internationally, with or without the laptop. More on this USPS regulation can be found here:

Great combination, Intel graphics, Penryn support, and hi-resolution screen. Finding these on an Intel based system is rare. This baby will surely have a new home soon. :)

It most certainly does.

T61/p series with nVidia graphics reminds me of SM in certain respects: a great concept that failed to fully live up to its promise in everyday life...

Intel-based units are more like what was known as SB: a SM body housing a no-nonsense, time-tested, bulletproof engine from DS...reliability before performance...
