I have one T61/SXGA+ laptop that is complete (Intel motherboard) and has no problems I am aware of. I was going to keep this for myself but decided it would be a safer sell than my nVidia T61/4:3 system - I'll keep that for myself (hope it doesn't fail soon). I've been using this system for the last few months and it works great - especially since I put in an X7900 CPU with 8G of RAM. I'm going to have to swap out the 8G RAM as I need it in my own system. I can install 4G (2x 2G) or leave the RAM slots empty. The system comes complete with AC, GREEN battery but no HD (I will include HD cover and caddy). I do have HDisks (ask me for prices) but can only install XP-Pro. It also comes with a DVD-Multi optical drive.

The original system had an XGA LCD - I replaced that with an SXGA+ LCD.

I really like the X7900 CPU and find it doesn't cause overheating problems at all. I'm not doing any serious gaming so you may find it different if you do. The system is really nice and quick .. Performs almost as well as the first generation core i5 CPUs - better than a T9600.

I'm very interested in this machine. I have a 15" T60p with a flexview LCD; would this be easy to install in this chassis, and with what degradations / pitfalls?

It would not work as the T61 I have is a 14.1" system.

The 14.1" 4:3 T61 board is possible to install into the 15" T60 chassis, though. This is the classic Frankenpad.

Ant this one is an amazing configuration!

With that in mind would you be interested in selling the bottom half, basically? I'd only want the motherboard, CPU, heatsink, RAM, etc - I have a case, screen, DVD drive, HDD, wi-fi, etc...

Well, I put a lot of work into getting it into one piece. To break it up would be a shame (in my mind). Now, ultimately it depends on the price you offer me .. Please send me a PM if you're interested.
