Still have one of these ultrabook ancestors laying around? Here's a dock with floppy and CD drive. Was working when last used many years ago; no way to test now. Free, just pay shipping (4 lbs) from zip 56465. PM me with your location for shipping cost.

I'll check on box and shipping cost. Will need to coordinate with trip to PO. No box required if you're willing to pay coach airfare.

If the total shipping weight is 4lbs or under the cheapest way to ship would be about $31 via 1st class international, but this is a very bad way to ship something of value as it can't be insured or tracked. If the the package is over 4lbs then the price jumps to $48-61 for priority mail medium-large flatrate box with 20lb max. Insurance is extra.
Hope this helps.
edit. There are smaller flatrate packages that only cost $17, but they are to small for something like a docking station.

Actually, it's a bit less than $31.
You're right that first class international does not permit insurance or tracking; though I suppose there is some very limited tracking with the customs declaration number (but not online). None the less, in the last few years, I've shipped about a dozen packages via first class international to Canada, Australia, NZ, Japan, and Europe without issue.
Priority Mail International is expensive, but it includes indemnity based on the postage cost (in this case it was about $75 if memory serves). For high value items it's a bit moot, as the insurance doesn't equal the value and adding insurance doesn't appear to give you a reduced rate reflecting the "automatic" insurance.
And Priority Mail can be done online; first class requires a trip to PO. So sometimes that can delay shipment a few days.

A 4lb package is $30 and change, I rounded it off. If the package is lighter it will be less but was just trying to give an estimated cost to help the member determine if it was a viable option for him. The real question is can you package it including all labels and customs forms without breaking the 4lb limit. I suggest using air pocket packing and foam peanuts, don't use packing paper or other heavy packing materials.
ps. anything of substantial value should be shipped express mail rather then priority, the insurance rates are much less and delivery times are much faster. When you get much over $500 in insurance the cost for priority mail gets crazy, plus the less time a package sits in port the less chance something can go wrong so I usually use Express Mail, which is the fastest delivery done by usps and is still far cheaper then similar services offered by ups or fedex, and whatever you do, don't ever send a personal shipment via FedEx... even if you want to ship the hat off your head to your mother they will require a commercial invoice which will make any hopes of of customs inspectors accepting the package as a "gift" vanish, and if you ship a computer, you not only need a commercial invoice but also need a catalog for the model your shipping.

Actually, the customs declaration number - and these forms must be filled regardless of shipping method - is trackable on USPS website.
