I have a non-thinkpad laptop, but I'm wondering if anyone has one of these lying around.

I'm not concerned with having any specific CPU, but one that is compatible with the socket. I have an HP Dv6 which reports a bad CPU error code, but I have no other CPU to test with it.

I'm looking to spend ballpark $40, I have lots of hardware lying around if anyone is looking for a trade, feel free to let me know what you're looking for.

I'd rather buy one through here if possible, rather than somewhere else.

any "Champlain" processor will work. the socket is S1G4.

so if you're looking for something cheap just to test, you could also look or ask for a cheaper dual-core athlon/turion X2 (just make sure the model matches one of the ones above).
