WTB - Decent Battery for X60 - need around 3 hours life

#1 Post by pedd » Fri Jun 29, 2012 6:27 am

Hi Guys, I'm tinkering with an X60 that I got cheap off eBay, and I'm loving it!
Unfortunately, it came with a non-Lenovo battery and it is deteriorating rapidly. I need to get about 3 hours out of the Thinkpad between charges, does anybody have a battery to sell at a reasonable price which will achieve this for me?

Many Thanks

Personally I'd love to help you but with new usps regulations I can't ship one to you unless I use a service like UPS or FEDEX. My guess is the cheapest method of shipping would be somewhere from $60-100 (usd) for shipping alone, compared to $17 that usps charged for small flatrate parcels.

Also, there are two different X60 batteries depending if yours is a convertible (tablet) or not. You should definitely clarify that and perhaps someone local will have one for you at a reasonable price.

Good Luck

There's a couple of sellers on eBay UK who have been selling genuine IBM/Lenovo batteries for the X60/X60s/X61/X61s ThinkPads at reasonable prices IMHO - what's the full model type number for your X60 ThinkPad?
:D

Ah! A couple of Rookie errors, apologies!

It's just a plain old X60 - not the tablet. Product ID 1707Y5Z

I'll have a look on eBay. Thanks for the help guys!

No probs mate - you might want to consider checking out eBay UK listings 110908892582 (£12.90+£3.00 for delivery) and 110898317905 (£22.50+£1.95 for delivery), as they are showing as being genuine batteries with decent enough prices IMHO. :D

EDIT: Those batteries should be compatible with your X60 but you should message the seller to confirm the FRU/ASM part number to check...trust but verify.

I think I lucked out in the end, took a punt on a Genuine Lenovo battery from eBay, was pretty nervous when I first put it in and charged it, but Battery Information told me that it had only been charged 14 times. It's currently giving me 4.5 hours.

Am delighted!

Thanks again everyone!
