Bought refurbished from IBM in 2002; used daily until the end of 2011.
A31p is in very good condition. Some scuff marks and light scratches on the lid and bottom. Battery is essentially shot; holds charge about 15 minutes. No dead pixels; screen is bright, especially considering the age.
One thing I notice is that, on start-up, there is a pinkish cast on the white progress bar at the bottom of the screen. By the time the Windows desktop appears, everything looks normal.
