This is the 701C "butterfly" (2630-2TU) that I got from Bill Morrow several years ago. It was completely gutted out and restored internally by RealBlackStuff a while ago, but I never got to finishing it, and chances are that I never will...

The ThinkPad boots, throws "161" and "163" errors and proceeds to load Windows 95 with no issues. The 360MB hard drive shows no errors. It currently has 24MB of RAM installed. The screen and keyboard are flawless. There is some wear - including a couple of deep scratches that cannot be buffed out - on the upper lid.

What it needs:

- A working battery and AC adapter. I do have a battery that you might try to rebuild, how rebuildable it is I have absolutely no idea.

- CMOS battery replaced.

It will come with an extra base (bottom) and an additional 24MB stick of RAM, along with the aforementioned "project" battery...as well as with 2 proper (16-bit) LAN/network cards that are functional but need dongles.

I've got a *ton* of money invested in this baby and am well-aware that I'll never recoup it, and I'm OK with that, since it really was a "labour of love" project. Would like to see it going to a good home more than anything else.

I reserve the right to sell this machine to whom I choose to, under the conditions I deem fit. "First come first served" may or may not apply.

PM or email me directly to tataslonATaol.com with any questions/concerns.
