LF/WTT: 2.5" 160Gb SATA HDD

I'd prefer either a TravelStar or Fujitsu in good shape, but might consider others. I can also do a trade, if there's somebody looking for a PATA drive in exchange. I have a number of them ranging from 60Gb to 160Gb. I also have a 200Gb Toshiba pulled working from an HP DV6000. Nothing seems wrong with it. I just don't use Toshibas, and prefer to stick with what I know!

PM with your thoughts.

toshiba bought out fujitsu's HDD division in 2009 so you'd have to find a 2008 or older drive for it to be "fujitsu" through and through.   if you already have a toshiba 200GB SATA then i'd stick with it, especially since it likely contains some fujitsu parts anyway.

i have a small stack of fujitsu, hitachi, seagate, and WD SATA drives but will have to see if any are exactly 160GB.   i'd still recommend keeping your toshiba though.

I agree with erik...Toshiba HDDs nowadays are not what they used to be a decade ago and thanks heaven for that one...that 200GB Tosh is probably a very decent drive as long as it's a 16MB version...I've used 320 and 500GB units and was very pleased...

With that said, I've got two Travelstars (160GB/7200 and 250GB/7200 FDE) with Lenovo FRUs that I'm not particularly attached to and might be interested in swapping them for a different SATA drive...

LMK...

Thanks for the heads up on the current state of Toshiba. I've not had a very good experience with them in the past and have stayed away from them for some time. I do have a trade in the progress right now, but I'll get in touch with you guys if it falls though.

I appreciate your time.

Hi, is your 200GB Toshiba drive a 2.5" PATA drive?

If yes, how much do you want for it?

Cheers...Dale
