WTB: Danish T60/T61 keyboard

#1 Post by Morten » Thu Nov 29, 2012 1:00 pm

Looking for a Danish keyboard for my newly acquired T60.

I am aware the T400/500 keyboards are compatible as well, and may be interested in a non-swiss-cheese version of those keyboards.

Let me know if you have something kicking around.

Morten:

As to the interchangeable keyboards between different ThinkPad series (and usable in T6x/p's) the threads WTB: New NMB keyboard w/US layout for 15" (4:3) T60 and Is a R61/R61i keyboard usable in a 15" (4:3 LCD) T60? may perhaps be of use, if you'll end up having to search on your own (on e.g. eBay). Hint: Watch out on Den Blaa Avis and eBay.de and, perhaps, also on the German ThinkPads forum.

There are e.g. several Danish T60 keyboards for sale on eBay.de right now, but the thing is that you can't really (always) tell for sure from the listing whether you're going to receive a NMB, an ALPS or a Chicony (and most users prefer NMB)... :?

Good luck hunting! :thumbs-UP:

It is possible to take SWE/FIN NMB T6x keyboard and transplant Danish few (two iirc) keys from T4x NMB Danish keyboard. I have done the opposite few times.

I just received my T60 barebone for the Frankenpad and it has a brand new Danish ALPS keyboard. PM me if you're interested.

Johan: Thanks for the response. I had a look through ebay.de and also read through those threads. Man there are a lot of keyboards on ebay.de but many of them are both kind of pricey and also only ship to Germany, and don't correctly identify the actual part number (but only a long list of compatible part numbers), and don't show photos of the backside. But I will say I was surprised at the sheer number of hits on ebay.de! The latter is a problem when trying to avoid the T400/500 flexy swiss-cheese type (which I can find on ebay for $40 with shipping from china).

Racerboy: Thank you as well! I think I recall seeing individual caps being listed on ebay, and being able to look for either DK/SE/FIN should expand my options (and I'll check if other languages would be interchangeable as well). Oh, and have sent you a PM about the one you have.
