WTT: Sata Hard Drive Ultrabay Caddy for the T4X/T60
WTT: Sata Hard Drive Ultrabay Caddy for the T4X/T60
Hi
I have Sata Ultrabay Caddy for T40/T41/T42/T43/T60 (flush for T4X series). I would like to get a 12.7mm PATA standard connector IDE hard drive bay caddy. I am not using it for a Thinkpad but for a computer that takes the standard optical drive connector (50 pin). Let me know! NYers welcome for easy in person meet up:)

Could you please post a link to the picture of the item that you're looking for? I'm a bit confused...

Also confused, the T4x/6x Ultrabay Slim adapter is 9.5mm.
The 12.7mm would be an Ultrabay 2000.
Here is a poor picture of the Ultrabay 2000 connector:

Not sure I would call it a ‘standard’ connector…
I have a genuine 12.7mm IBM adapter, PM me if you’re interested.

Hmm... I would like a 12.7mm 50 pin (standard optical connector) IDE hard drive secondary bay adapter
This one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-12-7mm-PATA ... 45f96a7a78
The item I have, that I would like to trade, is a T4X sata ultrabay caddy(yes it is 9.5mm). I own a T43p but it went bad. I am moving away from Thinkpads because I have been burned by them several times now. I bought an older Alienware and so far, it is doing it for me. So I would like an IDE hard drive connector (not sata) 12.7mm secondary bay adapter for it.
Edit: The 50 pin connector is the JAE Slimline connector. It looks like this: http://images10.newegg.com/NeweggImage/ ... 004-04.jpg and by all definitions it is the standard. I believe it is also called a PATA/IDE/ATAPI connector but that is really generic term. If you notice, most (well quite a few) other laptops use a converter to connect to it, even the T2X series.
Edit #2: LMAO, the seller on that ebay auction has all the right connectors, but there is Serial ATA written on the corner. No wonder people are confused! The internet throws terms around like they don't mean anything!

@91011:
see if you can take the ultrabay-2000 connector (as pictured in your post) off the cage.
On CD/DVD drives of that type, it's only 2 screws, don't know if the adapter is the same.
On CD/DVD drives you will find the 50-pin connector RoxyRose is looking for.

The Ultrabay 2000 connector will come off but the case would have to be reworked to make the Ultrabay Slim PATA connector line up properly.
It seems what you're looking for is the Ultrabay Enhanced that was used in the R4x series, but I only can find optical drives and no HDD adapters.
Get the one from ny-compu-tek, all the listing details & pics are what you need - only the label is wrong.
I've gotten several Ultrabay adapters from them including a T61 PATA/PATA adapter last week.
Just had a close look and it also says Serial ATA - but it's not, the knock-off factory must only have one label available.
And the listing says it's for a Dell and Dell has owned Alienware for around six years.

Just trying to save to some money. I know it's compatible but thank God I don't have an Alienware made by Dell.91011 wrote:The Ultrabay 2000 connector will come off but the case would have to be reworked to make the Ultrabay Slim PATA connector line up properly.
