Say what? Why am I selling this monster?

Conceiving it and using the machine in question was great fun...that being said, I really don't need all this power. My T43p FrankenPad is still meeting all of my needs, as unbelievable as it may seem.

For those concerned about the GPU...it has survived hiundreds of hours of Furmark and Freestone without bluescreening once. The driver never crashed in normal use either. I'd be willing to state that this one is as safe as "unsafe" examples of NVS140M get.

Of course, overclock it and you're on your own. That's something I've never done nor have any intention of doing for as long as I own the machine.

There are no words to describe the screen apart from calling it "downright perfect". It's really that simple.

This Frankie is outrageously fast in W7 Pro 64, as some of the pictures show.. Unfortunately, I can only sell it with XP Pro, Linux or with a blank drive.

Laptop is in very good physical condition showing only minor wear. I'd rate it a 9 on a 1-10 scale where "10" was just pulled out of the box.

I could go on and on and on...but the bottom line stands that this arguably IS the ultimate 4:3 laptop.

While I hate the process of pricing unique examples - which this one undoubtedly is - I will state that a lot of time and effort went into sourcing the parts utilized and that I'm completely leaving that aspect of the story out of the equation...

"First come first served" may or may not apply for this particular sale. I want this rare bird to end up in the best home imaginable. A *lot* will depend on who you are and how well I know you.

If you're in Italy or Germany, please be aware that I can't sell you this machine with battery included and will be more than happy to adjust the price accordingly.

As for downgrades...I would be willing to pull out the SSD and RAM, but that's as far as "bareboning" this one will most likely go. If you'd prefer a comparable machine with an Intel board, I'm certain that RBS will be more than happy to build one for you... :D

PM or email me directly to tataslonATaol.com with any questions/concerns.

I agree, an awesome machine and it's hard to beleive you're willing to part with it. I have two similar builds myself and when it comes to a thinkpad, it just doesn't get any better then this... period!!!

Unfortunately you missed out on this one!
But fear not, the next one is already beyond concept-stage!
Thanks everybody for your interest.

You should've. The asking price was a giveaway one...I was very tempted to get it myself, but was low on cash at the moment.

Before I lock this thread...

Let me just say that this is one heck of a FrankenPad and that I would've highly preferred for it to end up with a forum member.

But once again, just like with the previous QXGA unit, no serious interest was shown, which I find somewhat disappointing. This is the best 4:3 laptop screen I've ever seen, and I've seen just about every notable one there ever was.

If no one is reaching for their wallet when a machine like this is presented, maybe we should stop blaming Lenovo for offering garbage-quality-panels and look in the mirror...
