WTB: 15 Inch Thinkpad ..in UK

does anyone have a 15 inch thinkpad T61 or better series in UK for sale ?

Hi,

The 15" models were discontinued after the T60 series. Starting with T61 they kept the 14.1" model with standard 4:3 aspect for about half the series then it was phased out leaving only the widescreen options which were available in 14.1 and 15.4" models.

It is possible to custom build a 15" T61 using parts from a 15" T60 and a 14.1" standard T61. These hybrid machines are referred to as frankenpads and are generally considered the ultimate thinkpads, having the superior 15" flexview screens but without the T60's very limited capabilities of only 3gb of ram, slower cpu chips and less powerful graphic options. If you want one of these custom built machines, or if you want to build one yourself, either I, or some of the other sellers here can help you, but as far as I know we don't have any sellers based in UK that are offering these custom builds but international shipping isn't a problem.

If you want a widescreen model then it's very likely one is available in the uk.
