I'm looking for a T60 for a friend, they're wanting to spend less than £100 inc postage.

Bare-bones would be ideal and it doesn't really have to be a T60, it could be an R60, Z61, T61 or anything from the same era really.

I'd like the avoid XGA resolution but if the price is right I'll go for it.

Shipping to UK included please!

Preferred LCD choice(?) - 14.1", 15.0" (4:3) or 15.4" (Widescreen)
GPU? - Integrated or discrete

But 14" wide would guarantee no XGA!

I'm not sure if I can come close to that price, perhaps a T60/R60 with xga, but shipping to the uk isnt cheap, 100gbp is like $153 and the cheapest option to ship an 8lb package is $60 in a flatrate box or $70ish in a larger box.

If you want one laptop with a nice hi-res screen I have a nice Z61m with 1680x1050 screen that I could do for $150 plus shipping. I know that breaks your budget but I think you're going to have to go with xga or wxga to get close to your target price, or maybe find something local.

Good luck in your quest and if I come across a T/R60 in the $70-80 price range I'll let you know.

Thanks for the offer TuuS but on top of that there will be around £40 import duty which would make it almost double the budget

Maybe I need to have a holiday to USA so I can stock up on ThinkPads!

@ fleming164 - I might have a T61 TP available for you; I'll be able to get it out of storage tomorrow but off the top of my head it's wide screen based model (I think it's WXGA+ LCD) with the Intel X3100 GPU and it had the Middleton BIOS installed on it.

I'll double-check the specs and condition tomorrow but off the top of my head it had two cracks in the LCD top cover (not that noticeable), shiny keyboard (a couple of keys were worn but still legible), the Windows COA Label was worn (the product key was legible) and the battery had a high amount of wear.

Assuming you have access to an HDD/SSD and a power supply I could sell it for £65.00p, which would include the cost of domestic UK shipping. Cheers

I'll upload links as soon as it's fully cleaned up for you, as right now I'm double-checking everything is alright with along with applying a fresh coat of AS5 thermal paste onto the CPU & GPU for you as well.

UPDATE: Pics to posted later on today (just trying to find a working camera phone!) but its a T61 TP, Type: 7661-AZ7, Serial #: L3-R3842 07/12 - the differences, from the expanded specs listed below, are it comes with an Intel T7500 (2.20 GHz) CPU, the WiFi Card is an Intel PRO/Wireless 4965AGN and I noticed there was a small nill band line on the LCD (I've reseated the LCD cable & it's gone).

I've booted it off of a Linux Live DVD just now but I'm hunting out an HDD from another TP, so I can get it temporarily installed to get some screen shots as well for uploading & viewing.

Listed below are the first set of pics and screen shots - apologies for the quality of the images, as I'm having to use the camera on my Nokia 6303i Handset (hoping to get a better camera tomorrow) and also note that the test HDD used was from my R500 (in case your wondering about the references to it, within the screen shots).

@ fleming164 - Apologies for the delay in replying but had a family emergency I'm afraid; with regards to updated photos I'm getting my hands on a Nokia 6700 Slide handset tomorrow, which should hopefully give me some better quality pics (it has a 5M Camera rather than then 3.2M in my current Nokia 6303i handset).

@ durmada - I'll update you later on with regards to this sale, as I'll have another T61 coming up soon for sale; it will be higher price however as it will come with an Intel T9300 CPU along with an intergrated webcam (the entire LCD assembly was swapped out a while back).

Apologies I've been off of the forum of late due to a death within the family - I haven't had much time to look into either of the 2 x T61 TPs, but I will get back to you once they are freed up for selling on (needing them just now to help out my family).
