Johan, the panels in that ali express listing have brackets on the top and bottom which none of the ones I was selling had any such brackets and if they cannot be removed they would need to be cut off.

I can also confirm that all the panels in this forum post have been sold years ago. In order to get one today I'd expect to pay $200-300 or more, or you can try your luck with the ones listed on ali express, but I doubt they accept returns after you cut off brackets.

You can remove the brackets; they are just like the standard brackets Lenovo used in the T6x generation Thinkpads, which are removable with a phillips screwdriver.

The problem with these aliexpress displays is that, from what I can tell, none of them are ever actually New. Despite what the packaging might lead you to believe. I purchased a Used/Like New one from a seller on amazon and it had dust under the display (works fine otherwise). I later purchased a "New" one from aliexpress and it developed a nasty rounded/square halo of backlight all around it after a few days! I'm holding onto the one with the dust for a rainy day in the case my current display ever goes bad, since I was eventually able to live with it.

I concur.

Realistically, $350 or thereabouts is the price for an unused LCD of this kind nowadays unless one gets very lucky.

Having said that, the sheer possibility of breathing new life into any machine with 4:3 UXGA format is simply priceless, at least for silly old me.
