These are New panels from a factory case!!!

Hydis UXGA IPS FLEXVIEW with factory LED backlight Model: HV150UX2-100 LED

These are the ultimate 15" 1200x1600 panel that our very own member RealBlackStuff reverse engineered to work with 15" thinkpads like the T60 and associated T61 hybrid (FrankenPad).

These panels although once readily available are now quite rare and difficult to find but I was fortunate to get a small quantity of them that are now in stock and ready to ship

I'll be offering these panels to members for the amazing price of only $85 each plus shipping!!!


Note: Modification is required to use these panels in a thinkpad. You can read more about this here

If you want your panel installed I'm referring all members to RealBlackStuff. He's offering his service to members who purchase the panels since he no longer has panels instock. His service costs $60 ($75 if he supplies inverter) and includes modifying the inverter and LCD cable and installation. He can be contacted Here in the forum, or on his website theboardroom.info

I'm am very interested in making a prepurchase of three pcs., but as mentioned in the above threads, although no modifications are needed to the LCD (offered here) itself, this project however involve a custom wiring harness as well as a different, "LED-capable" inverter.

Question: For "far-away-from-USA users" (such as e.g. me!), who cannot easily benefit from RealBlackStuff's offer to do the complete modification (incl. modifying the UXGA cable), it would be very interesting to hear if a suitable modified, directly-ready-for-use cable and the needed inverter could also be offered? If so, such a "complete, all-included kit" would make it easier for users to take advantage of this offer.

many of Indonesian Thinkpadders interested in this masterpiece ...
but the distance and shipping cost hold them from buying this panel ...
some are still considering to buy from Mr. TuuS ... but we'll see, only time will tell ...

the panel cost $69, modification cost US$75 ... dunno the shipping cost, but I'm sure it'll cost me more than $200

but for those Hydis' lover, US$ 200 is nothing compared to this masterpiece

I've replied to all PMs and Posts privately. I'll address the questions publicly after I've investigated all options as I don't want to post any bad information.

Additionally, since there seems to be great demand for these panels and it may be the last time they are available, I'm going to be getting as many as possible. Thanks to all who have preordered, this is helpful in determining the quantities to order.

The first shipment arrives tuesday and prepaid orders should ship out promptly on wednesday (assuming no delays).

I'm thinking of making my T61 just like W700DS .. I wonder if RBS can do the mod like this

That is pretty funny, but if anyone could do that, it would be RBS.

To clear up some misunderstanding regarding these Hydis panels, Sales will continue until sold out. The pre-purchase special expires monday, but I will continue to sell them beyond that date as long as they are available.

I think the mod I've requested to RBS is hard to do, so I'm thinking of using the panel as a stand alone screen, draw power from usb ports and view the panel as projector using the output connector on my T61 (D-Sub )

I actually thought you were joking, so to be clear... using one of these screens as an external monitor would be possible, but not easy. Retrofitting one into a widescreen T61 would be impossible.

I suggest you get a 15" T60 to install one in, then you can upgrade to a (non-widescreen) T61 board.

yes, I will keep my existing wxga screen on my T61 ..
the not-so-easy retrofit would be, putting the 15 inch hydis panel behind the existing 14.1 wide panel, and then add a custom hinge so the 15 inch panel would be placed side-by-side with my 14 inch panel

since I work in sheet metal industry, fabricating for customized part is not too hard .. but modifying a hydis panel like RBS do, is not what I'm capable of

If you want to upgrade your T61 (internal) panel I have a wxga+ (1440x900) which is the highest resolution that will fit in your model. I could ship one with your hydis panel if you like.

As far as wiring the panel to work outside the laptop, it shouldn't be that hard. I posted a link to a guide on doing the mod. RBS has a much better method as it doesn't require any modifications to the panel at all, but if you don't mind soldering a couple wire it could be done fairly easy.

My good friend RBS and I will indeed have a solution for international buyers who don't want to ship their lid to get the conversion done. You will need to provide an LCD cable and an approved inverter. I believe RBS has some of the Inverters available and I'm going to look into getting some Cables so we can offer a packaged and ready to install system, assuming screens are still available.

Another good friend (ajkula66) has some very reasonably priced units listed in the forum and I believe he offers international shipping. If you want to buy one from him I'm sure we can workout a way to combine them in the same shipment.

Only a few Left and I doubt I'll be able to get more.

Unfortunately all good things eventually have to come to an end. I currently have several orders pending for these panels as well as for FrankenPad kits including the panels. I should have a few extra panels after all the current pending orders are filled, but any new requests are going to be put on hold so I can be sure to fill the existing orders first.

Within a week or two I should have an exact number of screens available and anyone interested in one will be put on a list and the last of the screens will be distributed after all current orders are complete.

Will this screen work on a T43p?

No, T43/T43p inverters are not powerful enough to feed the LED-screen properly.
I did one trial for Ajkula66/George, which has been dismantled since, as the brightness control does not work as it should.

That's wishful thinking.
These screens have become rarer than hen's teeth, ever since Boeing etc. put them in their aircraft cockpits.

Well, there's someone advertising these for sale... still today! Look for yourself here. If you however search for these LCD's (HV150UX2-100) or for sellers "Store number" (406367) on the sellers own webpage, nothing pops up, but on the other hand the search is very slow, so not sure it has ended? Maybe better to ask the seller per e-mail (info@antechcn.com or antech.christina@gmail.com) what's really the truth in this matter? The listing says "20 pcs available"!

... note that the label is placed differently compared to this eBay listing. Not sure what to "conclude" from that...?

PS: Very welcome to this forum to German ThinkPad TOPexpert, StarManni!
