I recently very reluctantly sold one of these, pretty much one of the best Thinkpads I've had in a long time. Good luck with the sale, someone should snap this up. If you're reading this and thinking about it, don't wait!

@NorrisCell. I have one of these now and it is quite nice! I recently swapped the 35-watt T9400 CPU with a 25-watt P9500 CPU for less power draw and efficiency. The screen (Samsung WSXGA+) in my T500 is very nice and is significantly superior to my T400 with a WXGA+ screen in terms of viewing angles and contrast! Good luck with your sale! :)

Looks like a nice computer! Unfortunately, I don't fully understand your ad. I'm sure it's just me; I'm definitely not the smartest guy in the room. So if you have time, could you help clear a few things up for me?

The first part of your ad, lists all the neat things this computer comes with. No problem there. But then you go on to say that you're selling it barebones: no ram, no hd, no power supply (don't understand that one). So for $240, what exactly am I getting? Are you selling this thing ala carte? Or does $240 get me a fully functioning computer right out of the box?

Any help you can give me in understanding what you're selling would be greatly appreciated.

Take care,

Thanks for the comments guys. It's been an amazing machine.

LambertJohn, no worries. The listing is a bit ambiguous if you don't browse here a lot. The first part is the original configuration of the machine, as listed on the Lenovo website, not necessarily what it has right now. I'm selling it without the items listed, because a lot of people have parts they intend to use if they purchase it. If you're interested in the laptop and need the parts, we can discuss what you need and I may be able to include it.

Could you offer a seat of the pants comparison between this and a 2.0ghz C2D T60 for user experience?

Do the discrete graphics stand out at all with flash and media play?

Thanks!

Daniel

One of the biggest differences comes from both the capacity and cost of additional ram. It was inexpensive to run 8gb in this and it ran obscenely fast. The 3gb limit on my old T60 wasn't bad for basic tasks, but doing several heavy tasks at once would cause it to choke. Also, the discrete graphics do make a difference in the smoothness of playback, in my opinion. The screen quality is also very nice for a non Flexview machine.
