Which model 600X Dennis? The non-Speedstep MBs are cheaper than the later Speedstep units.

James

I have such a board that I bought mistakenly thinking that I could convert my
'E'.....but alas, no such feat was possible!!!

The seller advertized it as like new.....guaranteeing no DOA.

I paid $100.00 for it. I will swap it straight accross for a good 600'E' SystemBoard....that test out perfect. My 600'E' that I bought from Bill has
been giving me bad meaage for some time now....I need the 400Mhz one...

AJ,

What kind of error messages have you been seeing on your 600E?

It's very rare for one to need a new motherboard, they generally either work or they don't.

James

Hi James:

Okay, you were right. It tests out okay w/o CD and Batt.

Where do we go from here???

Pass on to Bill my apologies for having thought of changing my original
feedback opinion of him and his bargains....

We did start out with problems over the W/2000 OS, but Bill was generous
enuff to send me an original OS Restore Disk for W98, and didnt charge me for it....everything else is fine....

Hi James:

I did some further testing with the following results...
With Brand new Batt in machine and usual CD: NO ERROR MESSAGE
With Empty Batt Box I made up to fill space when not using new Batt: ERROR
MESSSSAGE pertaining to System Board...

COMPLETE TEST with new batt, and CD:: NO ERROR MESSAGES OF ANY KIND, Machine checks out perfect.
