I need originals or copies of original disks, not ones that are burned from the restore partition. X230 tablet or notebook (same set) Windows7 Pro 64-bit.
04T4477 or equivalent. If you have bandwidth, I can download .iso files.

pm if you have a set

Thanks

Is there any difference between factory pressed disc and the one we created from the laptop?

Yes. They are quite different. The ones you make will restore your machine or one that is VERY similar. The factory disks are more general. Also, the ones you generate will put back your security descriptors. Factory disks will generate a fresh set.

I have used the restore discs that are created from very dissimilar models all the time. I have used x220t discs on my T420s, I have used W520 discs on a Edge E520, and on and on. Even with the drivers being very different, it works great, and running System Update fixes the drivers that was missed. I've tried it both ways on several ThinkPads just to see if it would work and it always has been a flawless process.

I am not familiar with what security descriptors are put back in, as mine have been for personal use.

I am not trying to get a working os. I need to put on an image that looks like what would be put on at the factory. That is what the Lenovo recovery disks do. As far as security descriptors, it has nothing to do with business vs. personal use. If you are looking for a basis explanation, search the web for sysprep and read what it does

Thank you! I used the recovery media from a T430 to restore an X230 to factory state. I've had to apply a bunch of Windows and Lenovo updates, but as far as I can tell (after 1 day), everything's working.
