FS: 14" R60 - excellent shell - busted LCD - barebone - $33

#1 Post by ajkula66 » Sat Aug 10, 2013 10:42 am

This one is offered to you fine people at TPF courtesy of USPS package handlers... :flame:

I sold this beautiful (9+ out of 10 on a 1-10 scale) R60 and thought everything was well UNTIL the buyer emailed me to report a damaged LCD...

To be perfectly honest, I have absolutely no idea what happened with it since the lid is still flawless BUT the upper LH corner of the panel is busted. The machine still displays, boots normally from both HDD and DVDRW, but the screen needs to be replaced if one wants to actually use the machine and not part it out.

The original specs were:

ThinkPad R60 (9457-Y1R)
Based on 9457-CTO: T2500(2GHz), 1GB RAM, 60GB 5400rpm HD, 14.1in 1400x1050 LCD, Intel 950, CDRW/DVDRW, 802.11abg wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, IEEE 1394, 6c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

No hard drive, battery or AC adapter are included in this sale.

Once again, the LCD is damaged.

Asking $33 + shipping at cost to most locations worldwide.

PM or email me directly to tataslonATaol.com with any questions/concerns.

Most likely it would need an EDID mod, but you might get lucky if your screen is from 2006 or later.

I honestly don't know.

If you're not in a rush, let me test it with one of my T4x screens (which is unlikely to happen prior to the weekend, if then) and I'll let you know.

As an alternative, since we've known each other for some time now I can ship the machine to you and if it works you pay for it, if not just send it back...
