Condition:
All labels on the bottom are gone.
The two batteries are both good with one at only 14 cycles - and while the other has a good number of cycles, it's still performing very well.
The display is good and bright, with just a few light spots on the screen that can be found upon close examination at high angles but not in normal viewing. Mainly, there is a chunk missing on the lcd bezel lower right (see pics) and the speaker grills are gone as seems to be common with used x300s. Keyboard is good and exterior is fairly good. Overall, I'd give it a B. Used looking, but even with the chipped bezel it's still attractive, which the pics don't show well. . I am not that good at cleaning and the lcd photos I took are showing some sort of refresh rate flicker/bars that are an artifact of the photo, not actually present. Oh well.
OS:
It apparently configured from Lenovo with Vista, which it may be valid for (COA is gone) , but had an XP "downgrade" or whatever they called it. The factory recovery disks (3 total) installed XP when I tested them, (was hoping for Vista, especially seeing "SP 1a" on the paper sleeve). After testing the discs, I recovered to the clean-ish but updated install it already had to save time. Your choice when it's yours.
In general, this is a great machine for a road warrior or student on a budget. I can't get over how balanced and light yet solid it feels. It's quick with the SSD and versatile with the optical drive. I feel like the SSD, the RAM, two batteries and recovery disks should make it a great value at this price even with the cosmetic hits which, again, are over-emphasized in the photos.
