Wife thinks she wants to Skype with her Z61m
Looking for the Bezel, Cable and Camera, plus anything I need to change hers over to a camera model. Anyone have parts out there?

I hate to tell you, but you need a motherboard that supports camera, and very few Z61m planars do.

If the machine shipped without the camera, the board will not support it.

I have a couple z61t models with webcam if that might interest you.

Tuus: She is hung up on the larger screen. I have a few donor T's floating around, more than I thought actually, when I started looking after a request from a family friend. I was hoping it would be as easy to add the camera as it was on the T's. Hence my request. Guess Ill break her dream this evening.

When the board on one of my wife's previous Z61m units kicked the bucket by developing a severe case of VRAM corruption, I was greeted by a $450 price tag for only such board on feebay, and almost $700 elsewhere on the web...

I did get the replacement planar from the best source there is, but that was literally the last one...and this was three years ago or thereabouts.

These boards are incredibly difficult to find by themselves for any reasonable amount of money. You'd be better off buying an entire Z61m with webcam...

Of course, clip-on USB webcams work really well for under $10.

Alternately, sell the Z61m for an R500 or T500 with webcam. Not as sleek, but at least functional and faster, too.
