I got this T500 a long time ago from some mess-up in a W500 purchase, and I was going to see if I could use it in a T6x/T4x mod but I never got around to it, I haven't even played with it.
A quick peel back and confirmation with the Type No. (2242-55U) shows it to be a pretty low spec T500... 1280x800 screen, 2GB DDR3 RAM, and Intel X4500HD graphics, no dedicated. It does, however, have a T9400 Core 2 Duo CPU(2.53 GHz), fingerprint reader, and a webcam.
There are two major issues with it though: The battery, a 6-cell small one flush with the laptop's back, only holds a partial charge even after calibration... so you may need to replace the battery. Also: It appears to have been heavily dropped on it's front left corner, as the casing is bent inwards and cracked, and there is casing missing under the firewire port. I'll have to include pictures that show the extent of the damage. None of it is too serious... the Firewire port still works, and the laptop itself appears to have 100% survived the fall, as there are no screen blackout/inverter issues, overheating issues, or other issues which would tie to a misaligned or kinked magnesium cage.
Other than the busted the corner, the laptop is in nearly immaculate condition, and there are no problems with any bit of the hardware. I have never had the chance to completely tear this laptop apart, and I have "refurbished" the insides(fresh thermal paste, dusting, cleaning)
The laptop will not include a Hard Drive, but I'm including the HDD door, caddy, and a charger that will work. So all you need to do on receiving the machine is install an Hard Drive and OS, and it will be 100% ready to go.
I'm asking $120 shipped.
