Updated: 2017-04-15 Removed the sets that have been sold.

I'm on a New Years clean up binge. Out with the old in with the new.

Backstory: From 2003-2010 I was in charge of a private IBM/Lenovo warranty service center which provided warranty service on ThinkPads that the company I work for had sold. When we stopped being a service center I was told to dispose of the odds and ends that the service center had accumulated over the seven years of operations. The various parts liquidators I contacted only wanted whole laptops and not the spare/small parts so I was told to throw them out. Having grown fond of the TPs I couldn't just toss these parts out so I took them home and they've lived in my basement ever since. I'm finally going through them and trying to sell them to folks who will use them to keep their TPs running.

Asking $25 per set shipped (or reasonable offer). Most are new, never used and come with the IBM/Lenovo instructions, some have been used once or twice. When requesting a set please refer to the set#.

Just a reminder. Windows XP support from Microsoft will end on 4/8/2014. These recovery disks have no value if you update the OS.

I'd like to get a copy of W2K for a couple of older TPs, but the machines are not listed above (A21m). Can I take one of the recovery sets that has W2K for another model and use it to install W2K on the A21m?

This is true, but you can still use the OS. If you don't have any highly sensitive info on your computer it should be fine and if you use a good router and firewall, you are usually pretty safe regardless.

As far as updating, in most cases the OS will need to be updated after these discs are installed anyway.

You can usually do this, but it won't have the drivers you need on the disc. If you have a valid code on your COA you could use a w2k setup disc, preferably one with servicepack 4 integrated, then install the latest thinkpad drivers and you're done, this would be easier than installing a recovery disc then service packs, then updating drivers.

For what its worth, I shipped several sets of Recovery CDs to Great Britain a few years ago. Then it was $15.00 Priority Mail, in a Small Flat Rate box.
Now it is about $25.00, still Flat Rate (video box?). Took 6 days last time, including the day I shipped and the day received. Arrived in like new shape, tracked every inch of the way. No issues at all.
