Redid the thermal compound ~7 months ago and updated BIOS A05 to a more recent BIOS A15. Both keyboards included (non-back-lit and back-lit) have a Dell version of the trackpoint. There is an option to turn either the trackpoint or touchpad off (used this quite a bit). Also for those who favor setting charge thresholds you can press Fn+F2 to turn charging -on or -off. This I am certain is a BIOS level feature as I am able to start and stop charging while in BIOS. I was not able to find a windows environment program that would automate on/off charging however it is decent to have at least some sort of control over battery charging variables. Really hate to see it go (will really miss the screen as it is very bright and that resoultion..oh my!) but the undergrad experience is almost never a cheap one

Disclaimers: the lid has some light scratches on it, Dell logo on lid has seen better days, the touchpad surface is slightly worn, and the SD card reader can sometimes be a bit finicky with W8 (if SD card is left inserted when shutdown it may not be detected upon the next boot; will have to eject and reinsert SD card for it to appear). Took some dollars off because I discovered a small crack on the plastic above the smart card reader as noted in one of the pics. Also just added a 2gb stick so this now has 4gb. Note that one of the sticks is a lower clocked PC3-8500S vs a PC3-10600S; it works fine however from what I understand the system will downclock to the slower speed RAM.

$160 + $20 shipping UPS within the 48 contiguous United States (with tracking and insurance) via Paypal. Really would like to get this sold!

Thanks!

Seems little interest in it here. Have you tried selling this on a Dell Forum, eBay or Craigslist?

I put it up on CL however there has been no interest generated as well. I am not a fan of selling things on fleabay. I find that I have to add ~15% more just to cover the fees! Also Fleabay transactions are often chance on both ends of the transaction. Recently I had two bad transactions (as a customer) however with a little persistence on my part things were rectified. On the other side of the dime as a seller I had someone tell me that they received a damaged screen and wanted their money back after a month had gone by. I won the case however the person left me a bad feedback however I was able to leave a note under their feedback as well. Out of all my sales that was the only bad feedback I received which irks me to this day!

As a result I am just not feeling fleabay as a seller these days. I still buy but those times are far-and-few in-between these days.

I am going to use the sales from this latitude to fund a desktop purchase. Going to hopefully have a budget mATX build by the time the fall session begins! So far I have some components selected and am keeping an eye on prices. Of course I will keep my T500 and X200T. I also have put my T61 up for sale here in the Marketplace as well.

Man if I didn't just acquire a T410 that suits me perfectly I would be all over this. The E6510 is an excellent machine with it's primary dis-advantage being that it has a 16:9 LCD whereas the E6500 had a 16:10 LCD but used a C2D CPU.

I hope you are able to sell this machine as I know you have been trying for a while.

EDIT: You can try selling this on the notebook review forums. There are a few of us Thinkpads.com users there who can vouch for you if you don't have an account there.

Bump and lowered price to $180 shipped! Also added an extra 2gb RAM for a total of 4gb RAM.
