WTB: W520 keyboard – US layout, new and original

Hello, I'm looking for a new keyboard to keep as a backup. I've got one off eBay but it looks like a fake (do they even make fake keyboards?) and I don't like it. Does anyone have an original keyboard for W520 in a new condition? Thanks.

I haven't seen a "fake" Thinkpad keyboard yet ("Fake" as if not manufactured for Lenovo). What makes you think yours is one? And other than that, what is it that you don't like about it?

As I think about it, maybe it is a refurb or something.

Main issues:

• Lenovo stickers on the backplate are missing.
• Fn key and right arrow key are catching on the corners of the metal backplate when pressed.
• Browser back button si lopsided and is touching the up arrow button.
• ThinkPad cap is fake - soft rubber, different from the original one.
• On all Lenovo keyboards I saw there is a recessed circle on a Windows key. On this one, the key is flat.
• Keys ">", "/" and right Alt have to be pressed really hard to register a keypress.
• Some keys are badly printed with uneven or crooked lines.
• Minor visual imperfections.

Otherwise it looks like a standard NMB...

Interesting! Could you post some pictures and/or point out the eBay listing where you got this one (assuming they have more)?

Wow. This does look different. And their listing has different pictures, of what looks like the original keyboard, and says clearly that the pictures are of the actual item. So clearly a misrepresentation.

Good luck with the case and with purchasing a new keyboard.

For now, that poor [censored] on eBay is not responding. Which is kinda good thing – If he doesn't respond until 6/3/2014, it will escalate to CS and they'll probably send my money back to me... Hoping for the best
