I'm selling this Dell Precision M4800 that I recently got but have decided to "trade" this one in and get an ultraportable (namely a Yoga 2 Pro)
It's the standard 1080p configuration as follows:
- Core i7 4800MQ
- 8 GB Ram
- Nvidia K1100 series graphics
- 500 GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD (upgraded)
- 15.6" (1920x1080) LED LCD
- Slot load CDRW Drive
- Dell 1550 Wireless AC
- 9 cell battery, lasts approx. 5-6 hours with normal use
- Original box and Windows 8 discs included
Overall, a nice clean unit with 3 notable issues:
1) The zero key on the number pad seems to get dislodged easily if you press the top half of the key (but doesn't completely pop out.) Simply press down on it again and it will click back into place. Still perfectly usable and as a number cruncher, I have had zero issues. Refer to picture.
2) There is a dent in one of the corners. I purchased it like this so I don't know the story behind it. It does not affect function in any way, and the lid closes just fine. Refer to picture.
3) There is no warranty with this unit. I bought it off eBay from a Canadian Dell reseller who claims that he gets these refurbished units from Dell at a really low price, with the caveat being no warranty coverage being offered.
I will say that the computer has performed flawlessly during my time with it (approx. 3 months), and I updated the bios to A07, which fixed the "fan always on" syndrome. I haven't had any heat issues, the screen has no dead pixels and no dead spots (the picture with my name in it seems to show a dead spot but it is not. It was a dust particle on my iPhone camera lens). I've been playing Battlefield 4 on it and it handles the game fairly well.
Asking $899 USD + actual shipping cost. Shipping will be from Detroit, so no worries on crazy high shipping costs. I suspect 30-40 bucks max for anywhere in the US. Good deal for a powerful machine IMHO. In terms of seller feedback, I've got several positive feedbacks in the feedback thread selling several laptops. Just look me up. Any questions just PM me.
Cheers.
