Long story short, my last semi-working A31p bit the dust last night.

Looking for an A31p system board/motherboard/planar, 64MB ATi Fire GL 7800 GPU only, with or without security chip, properly tested and working.

According to HMM, the applicable FRUs are: 26P8232, 26P8399, 26P8430 but I'm certain that there are others out there.

Willing to pay a proper price for a proper board.

I'm also interested in a complete working A31p in almost any shape as long as the motherboard is OK.

PM or email me directly to tataslonATaol.com.

So, I have a question. Assuming it is the GPU syndrome - do tricks like applying pressure to the GPU (by means of a permanent pad under the frame or such) help prolong the life of these systems?

Not a GPU problem on this one. In general, pressure does next to nothing on these systems because of the GPU location.

Persistent "Fan Error" which won't go away with any fan.

Maybe, but since that board was flaky in other respects to begin with, I'm just burying it with honours...

With that said, a machine has been located with the invaluable help of this forum, so I'm locking this thread... :D
