Does anyone have a copy of AIX 4.1.5 for Clients that they could sell?
Thanks in advance!

Interesting. Didn't realize there was a "client" version of AIX (main limitation being only 2 simultaneous users apparently but also some things like NFS exports may not work). I've only used server versions. Is your hardware only licensed for client version?
EDIT: Also note that any hardware that runs 4.1.5 can probably run any version up to 5.1 if your situation otherwise allows an upgrade.

Not sure which the ThinkPad 860 was licensed for. I understand that the "Client" version is a little lighter-weight, and the 860's are a bit resource-constrained.
However, I'm sure it'd run 4.1.5 Server just fine.
The key though is that it be 4.1.5. No other version includes the graphics driver for the ThinkPad 860, though technically it'd probably at least run up to 5.1 like you said, only without graphics. I know some people have gotten newer versions to run by installing the 4.1.5 graphics driver package on top of the newer OS, but since I don't have the media for either, I'd have to get 4.1.5 one way or the other. The oldest version I have around is 4.3.3.
But I'm a stickler for "stock", so I'd probably just stick to 4.1.5.
Anyway, thanks!

Laptop drivers could definitely be an issue. Unfortunately I don't have any server CDs older than 4.3.3 either since I cleaned out everything last year. Only AIX media I see on ebay right now is 4.3.3, 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1; I was able to get 5.3 there a couple years ago. Prices vary widely; usually $50-$100 range but 5.1 is listed for only $8.
Might try googling or checking google groups (comp.unix.aix) to search for aix thinkpad; quite a few others have posted searching for 4.1.5 media and maybe some of them found it and would pass it on.
