Hi!
I really need some help acquiring the following items. I'll take any and all of them, or pieces of non-working systems that may contain them... I have acquired a ThinkPad 860, but alas, it has no hard drive and is therefore not currently usable.
1. 1.2GB SCSI drive for ThinkPad 860, in caddy (really, the caddy is what I need the most)
2. Back flap for ThinkPad 860 that covers the ports
3. AIX 4.1.5 for Clients install media
Many thanks in advance!

Re: WTB: ThinkPad 860 parts
the tough part is, I think, a 2.5 inch scsi hard drive INTERFACE cable with the appropriate plugs..
if you can get the plugs sone careful soldering and a cable replacement can be made..
I know it can be done 'cuz I have done it..
next is a scsi drive itself..
the caddy can be done without to make it run..
it MIGHT be that a 755 series caddy would work but I doubt the interface cable would fit the scsi drive..
have you tried googling for some parts..
also, there is a company in LALA land called APRICORN who used to do all sorts of hard drive backup, enhancement and so forth for thinkpads.. together with their thinkpad memory business..
they are or were IBM approved and thus had all the engineering manuals for thinkapds..
edit: apricorn.com
I USED to be a dealer for them selling memory and the ez gig stuff.. still have a NOS ezgig..
