SOLD: ThinkPad 701Cs Butterfly w/Box & Original Accessories

#1 Post by superme900 » Sun Jul 27, 2014 10:41 am

I am selling a ThinkPad 701Cs complete with the original box and original accessories.
It's for sale on eBay combined auction and BIN for £299.99 (£249.99 reserve) but I would be happy to sell it here for £235 + postage via PayPal gift.
Postage can be negotiated to find an ideal price depending on your location.
For more details and many pictures see the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MESE:IT
If you have any questions that aren't covered on the listing, feel free to ask me via PM.

Update: Sold outside of the forum.

It may be a slow sale, one that a collector would jump on once they find it.
Excellent condition, but its probably not selling because its a buy it now.
I've seen auctions go way above their buy it now counterparts, but I'd say do that if you want to get rid of it at a lower price... Which is not always wanted.

Still I find it funny the W500 I've had that didn't sell for $180 as a BIN but went up to $240 on an auction the next week after the bidding war. I was pleasantly surprised.

I know, it is a strange phenomena isn't it?
I suppose it is due to people becoming attached to the items they bid on to the point where they end up bidding far more than they usually would just to win the auction, I've found myself fall for this a couple of times.
I'm concerned that if I listed it as an auction that it would end up selling for way less, for instance, I had a mint condition Flexview T43 that only went to £50 on the first auction, and £72 on the second (I had a reserve for £100), I then listed it as a BIN and it sold for £200 a week later, it was nice waking up to the notification of such.
